What should I expect at a SE Searchers rally?
We can't promise treasure but we can promise a great day out, land to detect and a chance to find history... and maybe treasure if your lucky or skilled. On a rally, you will have access to fields that are ready to be detected - plough soil or pasture typically. You will have advice if you want it - from the SES team or other detectorists. We truly are a a friendly bunch. A lot of rallies are single days but some offer camping so if you have a tent, a camper van or a caravan, you can camp at these events. You will get emails telling you when there is a rally - and the Facebook group will also announce events to come.

What if the weather is bad? We detect in bad weather unless it is actively dangerous to do so. We hold rallies all through the year. Where possible, hard standing parking is offered but camping is generally in fields and at some sites, the parking is in a field.

How much will this cost? Generally, £20 per day per detectorist. If camping is available, there will be small additional charge for overnight pitches. Camper vans and caravans are usual welcome but please check first.

A bit about us
We are a friendly club of detectorists that organises rallies for members - and we welcome new members.
It has been increasingly hard to find landowners that will let you detect on their land. If you don't know the farmers and can't put in many hours of effort, it is pretty much impossible to get permission to detect on land - and finding sites that may have finds of historical interest? That is tricky to say the least.
However, South East Searchers have the contacts and we can organise rallies where you will have soil under your coil and discoveries just waiting to be made. We find the land, we make the arrangements with the landowners, we signpost the rally and, when we can, we will be there detecting with you - but your fun comes first! We are always ready with advice and help if you want it and there is usually tea, coffee and snacks for people at our rallies.
